Few areas of the law escape the effect of privacy regulation; privacy law is now an essential aspect of many areas of the law including technology, health, corporate, employment and litigation. The Section’s mandate is to further knowledge of privacy law within the profession and to provide a forum for both public and private sector counsel to make a difference in this new and burgeoning field. The Section issues a quarterly newsletter and holds regular educational sessions; it also has the mandate to get involved in privacy projects and develop tools to assist counsel to apply privacy law principles in their respective practices.
